Will County prosecutors have subpoenaed the life-insurance policies of a suburban Chicago man accused of killing his wife and three children.
Prosecutors sent the subpoena to John Hancock Financial Services in Boston on August 15.
Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow says the subpoena is part of "an exhaustive investigation of the case."
One of Christopher Vaughn's defense attorneys said the request for information isn't unusual.
Vaughn is accused in the June slayings of 34-year-old Kimberly Vaughn and her three children, 12-year-old Abigayle Elizabeth, 11-year-old Cassandra Ellen and 8-year-old Blake Philip.
He was arrested on June 23 at a funeral home in a St. Louis suburb, just hours before a memorial service for his family.
