An Aurora man convicted of following home a high school girl, breaking into her house and sexually assaulting her has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Cedric L. Bouchee, 19, of the 600 block of Talma Street, was sentenced Friday by Kane County Judge Timothy Q. Sheldon on convictions of one count of home invasion and one count of criminal sexual assault.
Kane County prosecutors said that on March 7, 2007, Bouchee and co-defendant Mychal Postlewaite, 19, of the 1000 block of Colorado Avenue, Aurora, were driving home from school on Aurora's West Side when they saw the victim walking up the driveway of her home. They stopped their car, followed her to the front door and forced their way into her home, where they sexually assaulted her, prosecutors said.
Bouchee was sentenced to six years in prison for the home invasion and four years for the sexual assault. He must serve at least 50 percent of the home invasion sentence and 85 percent of the sexual assault conviction, prosecutors said.
Postlewaite is charged with two counts of home invasion and two counts of criminal sexual assault. His trial date is Aug. 3, in front of Sheldon. Postlewaite remains free on $12,500 bond.
Assistant State's Attorney Christine Bayer said the sentence "gives justice to this victim, who has experienced so much turmoil since this incident."
