Suburban Students Rally Against Immigration Reform

East and West Aurora High School Students March

AURORA, Ill. (CBS) ― As Washington worked on a compromise, hundreds of students in Aurora left their classrooms Thursday to rally against immigration reform.

Students from East and West Aurora High Schools marched and waved American flags.

They fear family members could be deported to Mexico if a strict version of the bill is approved.

The U.S. Senate is negotiating a compromise.

It holds out the hope of citizenship to an estimated 11 million immigrants who are living in the country illegally.
