A northeast Indiana gas station wanted to scare customers away after it ran out of gas, so it posted a price of $5.99 a gallon for unleaded regular.
A worker at the Kaghann's Korner gas station in Waterloo along Interstate 69 north of Fort Wayne says the sign generated a lot more excitement than they anticipated.
Employee Piper Withey says they put the high price up as a deterrent, hoping to avoid having people waste their time stopping at the station, only to find that they were out of gas.
She said they don't yet know when they'll be getting more gas.
