Stroger is doing a terrible job, can't believe he was elected by people who were so blind to his capabilities! -- Richard Raap

Todd Stroger follows in his father's corrupt footsteps. He does nothing to improve Cook County, but yet finds ways to taxes unmercifully. He and his "pals" are really making out like bandits. It's unfortunate that we have to suffer while Todd Stroger is living quite comfortably. I, for one, am sick and tired of his antics and wish others would become more outraged. He is a total idiot who only got his job from his dad (another total idiot, now deceased) and both were out to screw taxpayers to death for their own benefit and friends of our rotten Mayor Daley, another crook in Crook County, Il and friend of Rezko and our rotten governor whom I hope is indicted and sent to prison just as Ryan. We taxpayers pay their legal bills and only John Kass, Sean Hannity and Lou Dobbs, tell it like it is. Todd Stroger is doing a pitiful job as President of the Cook County Board. He has run public health care into the ground while he pays his friends and family 6 figure salaries whether they are qualified or not. And in order to pay those salaries, he raises taxes so he can continue to rake in the big bucks for himself and his cronies. His greed and and his 6 figure club are destroying our County, making it too expensive for the poor to live here. All that money for those unnecessary salaries should be put back into the County budget where it should be. He cares nothing for the County in general - he only cares about himself and his friends and family. When Stroger senior was unable to run in the general election, the slot should have gone to Forrest Claypool who legitimately ran in the primaries. Shame on the City and his pals for gifting him with this position...he doesn't work for anyone but himself...and he is supposed to be working for the residents of Cook County. – Cyndi Mears

I live in DuPage County. It's been interesting and entertaining watching his disasters, greed and incompetence from afar. I have to ask the residents of Cook County...just WHAT DID YOU THINK HE WOULD DO? In some ways, the people got what they deserved by voting for him. They had a choice, and Peraica was an honest, decent guy. They chose Todd instead. Go figure. – Carolyn K

The joke about toad stroger is that he is so blatent about what he does. It's like he doesn't even try to hide what he does. The next joke is that he will continue to get the black vote even though it is the poor black community that gets shafted the most from the poor services of the county. But the best laugh would come when he is indicted by Patrick Fitzgerald. That will be a glorious day for Cook County. – luke

Can not do better if he doesn't know any better.I do not think he has a Business degree or any private business experience.Public service can not be elected officials anymore . Resources are scarce.People need jobs real jobs with real pay and security.You have a lot of people in the wrong job and a lot of BLUE FLU going on. Not waste and fraud and corruption. Explain privatization to these people or train them to do something for their money. Todd Stroger is not only incompetent but arrogant. The forest preserves, hospital,clinics, law enforcement, every phase of county government needs a drastic overhaul. Maybe the taxes wouldn't be so high if he didn't pay all of his relatives, friends and hangers on 6 figure salaries. Why is there a need for a large public affairs department? If the county was well run Todd wouldn't need all the spinners. Oviously, he only cares about taking care of Todd and his cronies, not the poor, nor the shrinking middle class that is supporting him. What is really sad about all this, is the people that on a majority level, voted stroger in, were african americans, and the people on a majority level who stand to lose most from his policies and actions since hes taken office, are african americans. Many people have problems with other elected officials. The list is long - Mayor Daley, the Governor, President Bush. Even among this list, Todd Stroger is in a class by himslef. I have never seen such incompetence. While I have always voted, I have never been politically active. I plan on working hard to help get Todd Stroger out of office. Terrible!! Completely out of touch with the people of cook county. As it is, many people are struggling with their finances, and he has the nerve to raise the sales tax. Then we hear stories about his family members getting 6 figure income jobs with the county under his reign. This is just a form of corruption. Certainly the death of his father does not make him qualified for the job he is in. Terribly...I own an Ice Cream store in Buffalo Grove. By the time july comes I will have 11% sales tax!!!! The tax was 8.75% until 01/01/08 when BG added 1%. In April .25% was added from RTA. Starting in July Cook will add another 1%!! 11% retail sales tax for an ice cream cone!!! 11%!!! How much more can the tax payers and small business owners in this area take? 11%!!! How do you think Todd Stroger is performing as president of the Cook County Board? : Better change the county's name to Crook county. Raised taxes to pay for his relatives with 6 figures paying jobs, cut services for the disabled or poor people, and lay off lower people? He can't even run the county so he has to hire his relatives to do the work for him. I can't wait until the Feds steps in find any wrongdoing or corruption in this county. Toddd is doing a terrible job. I give him an "F" across the board. If the voters of Cook county are smart - when his term is up that will be the end of him. I wouldn't vote for him to be dog catcher. From Stroger's leadership on down, the priorities of the Board are first and foremost with political friends, family members, supporters, campaign contributors and precinct workers. I do not believe Todd Stroger is looking out for the best interest of Cook County residents, I feel he has sold us down the river. I think that the job he has has gone to his head as well as his friend's pockets. He really thought that he could do the job as well as his father but he has to first do a job well for the public and then maybe friends and family. But right now if there was an election, I would vote him right out of office as quick as I can. How can you give a 12% raise. Before I owned my own business 5% was the most given to any of my employees. Then to raise the sales tax, I do not shop in Cook County anymore even for gas. I do not know how he can sleep at night. --Debbie
