2 Charged With Teen Sex Abuse
CHICAGO RIDGE, Ill. (STNG) ―
Two men were charged Wednesday with having sex with girls as young as 13 in exchange for drugs and alcohol over a two-week period, Chicago Ridge police said.
Efren Gonzalez, 29, of Chicago Ridge, was charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, one count of delivery of marijuana, one count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and one count of possession of marijuana, Chicago Ridge Police Chief Tim Baldermann said.
Bail for Gonzalez was set Thursday at $125,000 on the sexual abuse charges and $50,000 on the drug charges, Baldermann said.
Alaa Naji, 26, of Oak Lawn, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Baldermann said. Bail for Naji was set at $125,000.
All charges against Gonzalez and Naji are felonies.
Nader X. Jadrwi, 24, of Oak Lawn, was charged with three misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Baldermann said. His bail was set at $35,000.
The charges stem from an undercover drug investigation that culminated Tuesday night with the arrests of Gonzalez and Naji in an apartment in the 6600 block of 104th Place, police said.
Baldermann said while police were interviewing the men at the apartment, two teenage girls walked over to see what was going on.
After interviewing the girls, ages 13, 15 and 16, police learned that they had been sexually involved with Gonzalez and Naji, he said.
Baldermann said police are looking for a third man who may have been involved in sexually abusing one or more of the girls.
"These are young, naive girls who were taken advantage of by adults," Baldermann said.
