Skulls Found At O'Hare Are Human

 SLIDESHOW: Useless Body Parts

CHICAGO (CBS) ― Two skulls that turned up during a screening of cargo Tuesday afternoon at O'Hare International Airport are human, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The skulls were found in a package about 2 p.m. during an inspection of cargo by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

An autopsy Wednesday determined the skulls were human, according to the medical examiner's office.

In the same package was a plastic dental model with a memo attached, Mirabelli said. The skulls might be used for medical practice, he said.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is investigating, though a spokeswoman has not been available for comment.

The Chicago Tribune reported the package came from China and was headed to a residential address in Michigan.
