Onetime Ryan Harris Murder Suspect Back In Jail

Romarr Gipson Was Falsely Accused Of Harris Murder At Age 7

CHICAGO (AP) ― A teenager who was wrongly accused 10 years ago in the murder of an 11-year-old girl is back in jail for violating probation for his role in a 2006 double shooting.

Romarr Gipson, 17, was ordered held without bond following his arrest Monday on charges of drug possession and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.

Gipson is accused of pointing a BB gun at a female he was arguing with inside a residence. Authorities say the victim fled and notified police.

In 1998, a 7-year-old Gipson and an 8-year-old boy were accused in the death of Ryan Harris, making them the youngest murder suspects in the nation at the time.

DNA tests later led prosecutors to charge convicted sex offender Floyd Durr, who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison.
