Police Search For 3rd Driver In Road Rage Crash
TINLEY PARK, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
Illinois State Police continue to search for the driver of a grey Chevrolet believed to be involved in a road rage crash in south suburban Tinley Park that left two men injured Wednesday.
ISP District 5 troopers responded about 12:15 p.m. to a crash in the westbound lanes of I-80 just east of LaGrange Road, according to a release. The crash involved two vehicles and sent the drivers to local hospitals.
Witnesses told police that just prior to the crash, a blue Chevrolet sedan and possibly a grey or light brown older model Chevrolet Celebrity were involved in a road rage incident, according to the ISP release.
The argument continued westward until the driver of the grey car positioned his vehicle in front of the blue car and slammed on his brakes, the release said. This caused the driver of the blue car to lose control, swerve to right and then left into the path of a semi-truck, which broadsided the car.
The driver of the car, who police identified Friday as Bradley Squires, 46, of New Lenox -- was extricated from his vehicle and taken to St. James Hospital Olympia Fields Campus with serious injuries, the release said. A hospital spokeswoman declined to update his condition Friday, citing hospital policy.
The driver of the semi -- Larry Adams, 48, of Rock Falls -- was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the grey car, which fled the scene, is described as a white male with light brown curly hair. Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information should call state police at (815) 726-6377.
