Man Stabbed At Downtown Red Line Station
Victim Left In Critical Condition
CHICAGO (STNG) ―
A man was critically injured in a stabbing on a CTA Red Line subway platform early Wednesday in the Loop.
The victim, of an unidentified age, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition after being stabbed early Wednesday, according to Central District Police. The male suffered a puncture wound to the chest, police said.
An unknown person stabbed the victim with a knife during an argument on the Red Line platform, police said.
CTA spokeswoman Kim Myles said an altercation took place on the platform of the Jackson Station at 2:30 a.m.
"One of the customers was taken to an area hospital,'' according to Myles, who said Red Line service was not affected because of the incident.
