Man Charged In Murder Of Pizza Delivery Woman
29-Year-Old Man Allegedly Struck Victim On The Head, Robbed Her
WHEATON, Ill. (STNG) ―
A 29-year-old Sandwich, Ill. man was charged Saturday in the brutal murder of a St. Charles pizza delivery woman.
Bradley M. Justice was charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery for the Nov. 2 death of Karen Hassan, 41, according a release from the DuPage County State's Attorney's office.
Justice was arrested in a Tuscola, Il. hotel where he was staying after an acquaintance dropped him off, the release stated. He is currently being held in the DuPage County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Bond Court Sunday morning.
"The murder of this woman is extremely disturbing," DuPage County State's Attorney Joe Birkett said in the release. "Here we have a woman, trying to make an honest living, who lost her life in a violent, vicious and senseless crime."
Hassan was an employee of a St. Charles restaurant and left the restaurant to deliver a pizza around 8:30 p.m. to an unincorporated area of West Chicago, the release said.
Hassan arrived to deliver the pizza to 3N 361 Powis Rd. when Justice allegedly "struck her repeatedly with a blunt object on and about her head resulting in her death," the release stated. Justice then dragged Hassan's body away from her vehicle, and attempted to conceal it underneath a truck.
Hassan was found at approximately 1 a.m. on Friday morning, and found her body under the truck, the release stated.
Hassan was pronounced dead at 2:25 a.m. Friday, according to a spokesman from the DuPage County Coroner's office.
