Youth Pastor Gets 4 Years For Sex Assault Of Minor

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (AP) ― A former youth pastor at a suburban Chicago church faces four years in prison for sexually assaulting a teenage girl who was a parishioner and student.

Thirty-eight-year-old Edward E. Greene, of Asheboro, North Carolina, pleaded guilty on Thursday to criminal sexual assault.

He was sentenced in DuPage County Circuit Court and faced up to 15 years in prison.

The girl attended Marquette Manor Baptist Church and its school in Downers Grove from ages 13 to 17.

The DuPage County State's Attorney's office says the incidents of abuse happened in 1998 over a three month period.

After serving his sentence, Greene will have to register as a sex offender.
