CHICAGO (CBS) ―
A 12-year-old girl missing for six days has apparently been found on Chicago's South Side.
According to a family member, Desiree Ruvalcaba was found around 4:36 p.m. Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of 63rd and Aberdeen Streets on the city's South Side.
The family member said the girl was spotted by a crossing guard, who recognized her, detained her and called police.
Ruvalcaba was admitted to University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital but appears to be uninjured, the family member said.
Chicago Police News Affairs said Wednesday night that there was conflicting information surrounding the circumstances of the girl's disappearance and investigators were still sifting through the case.
