Wrigley Field Renovations Begin

Improvements Will Add Nearly 2,000 Seats

CHICAGO (CBS) ― Just because the Cubs aren't playing October baseball doesn't mean that Wrigley Field is empty.

The renovation of the venerable ballpark's bleachers started soon after the Cubs played their final home game.

Work continues this week while fans crowd into U.S. Cellular Field.

The bleachers will have nearly 2,000 more seats in time for next season's opening day, plus new entrances, more bathrooms, wheelchair accessible seats and a restaurant.
