Strip Tease Your Way To A Better Body
Popular 'Strip Bar' Classes Take Their Cue From Pole Dancing And Strip Teases
by Mary Ann Childers
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
If you're bored with your fitness routine, and ready to try something very different, how about a sassy workout called Strip Bar?
As CBS 2 Medical Editor Mary Ann Childers, reports just be ready to release your inhibitions and to work up a sweat.
Strip Bar is a combination of strip tease movements and pole dancing only, you keep your clothes on.
"Typically we sometimes dim the lights and it's no holds barred," said Strip Bar instructor Antonio Coke.
But don't be fooled. This dance routine is a tough, body conditioning workout with a focus on cardiovascular exercise.
"Yeah, I get a good sweat on, and I get my heart rate up. It's all good," said Strip Bar student Katie Pogue.
You don't need dance experience for Strip Bar, and it's for men and women of any fitness level who just want to let it go.
"Seeing the energy from the instructor and the other members working out together, it was really cool -- and dancing with the pole," said Alexandra Bar, a Strip Bar student.
"It's just so sassy and everyone just has a great time when they get over here," Pogue said.
Since Strip Bar classes started at Crunch Gym in January, they have attracted a lot of attention. And almost as many men are signing up as women.
