Some Stores Open Late On Christmas Eve

Last-minute shoppers flocked to 24-hour Walgreens to do Christmas shopping.

They put it off and put it off, but last-minute shoppers didn't give up. They just had to find stores that were open late.
CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot reports that they were all taking peaceful strolls down the aisles of the 24-hour Walgreens downtown. There's no deadline or stress there, but that wasn't the case for one shopper we caught up with earlier Wednesday night doing his gift buying under the wire.
Brian Lulofs is at Target on Chicago's near north side. He's trying to finish all of his Christmas shopping. The problem is - he just started.
"I have no idea what to do," said last-minute shopper Brian Lulofs.
Excuses aside, Brian stepped into high gear. He thought DVDs would make great gifts.
"I'm getting Mamma Mia," Lulofs said.
With 45 minutes to go, Brian looked for his brother's present.
"He's been wanting this clock for quite some time," Brian said.
CBS 2 also ran into shoppers who were all done with shopping!
"Relieved. The stress is over. Now we just gotta get to the wrapping of everything," said Anna Falcon.
Meantime, with minutes before closing, Brian, still wasn't finished!
"People still love me so I guess they'll accept it," Brian said.
Other procrastinators found a 24-hour solution in Walgreens.
"They are a lifesaver every year," said last-minute shopper Stormy Martin.
Stormy Martin has been coming to Walgreens on Christmas Eve for 16 years.
Neill Williams was armed with a list and thoughts.
"I came in here with a list given to me by the wife with additional things to get," Neill said. "I'll buy buying it at Walgreens, only place open."
Neill says in his defense he just moved to Chicago.
For those of you who will meet with family late in the day on Christmas, you can spend the morning online researching gifts - some of them will cost you nothing.
