9 Injured In Kennedy Rollover Crash

CHICAGO (STNG) ― Nine people, including three children, were seriously injured in a rollover accident Tuesday night on the Kennedy Expressway just outside downtown.

The nine people were inside a van that rolled over on the outbound Kennedy Expy. (I-94) near West Chicago Avenue just before 8:30 p.m., Fire Media Affairs Cmdr. Will Knight said.

An Illinois State Police District Chicago Trooper said there were no lane closures because of the crash as of 9 p.m.

Three minors were taken to Children's Memorial Hospital, four people were taken to Stroger Hospital, and two people were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Knight said. All the people injured were in serious to critical condition.
Knight did not know if the people injured in the crash were related.
