Rev. Jackson Released From Hospital

CHICAGO (STNG) ― Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr. was released from a Chicago hospital late Friday morning, according to a source at Rainbow PUSH.

Jackson's condition was "much improved'' and he was released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital about 11:50 a.m., according to the spokeswoman.

Jackson was conducting voter registration activities in Ohio and Georgia on Wednesday when he was stricken with food poisoning, according to a release from the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

He returned home and checked into Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where doctors diagnosed him with viral gastroenteritis and severe dehydration.

Jackson's doctors said they expected him to make a full recovery.
