Viewer Comments on Drew Peterson Gun Charges

We asked viewers if they thought authorities were justified in charging Drew Peterson with illegal gun possession. Here's what viewers said:

It seems obvious that the charges are an attempt to subdue a suspected killer by alternative means. If they can't charge him with murder, they will find a way to charge him with something else. I believe they are justified in charging him, however if the circumstances were different and he wasn't a suspect in his wife's disapearance, I think this sort of thing would have just "flewn under the radar." -- Valerie Khan

Yes, if he did what they have alleged, but I believe that the authorities are trying to wear him down and confess what he knows about his wife disapperance. -- Belinda Jackson

Law enforcement was justified in charging him with this crime. The gun he owned as a private citizen was not within the law. If it is legal for a police officer to own such a weapon, that will be proven by Drew's defense in court. -- Kim

As a firearmes expert I'm convinced they measured the gun improperly. Charge Peterson with murder or leave him alone. -- Paul Huebl
