We asked how early voting has changed the election for you. Here are your responses: it helped me! i can only stand five minutes before my leg buckles --Mary McDonald
I debated about it. I admit I wondered if my vote would be counted for real...but then I thought, I'm worried about my vote even on election day. I worry about corruption. I decided that voting early would take the pressure off of me, since I have to work the 4th, and I'm off work this week, I took my time and felt very good about it afterward. But do I know if my vote will be counted? Of course not. But I sincerely hope it is. I feel a great deal hangs on this election. I'm on pins and needles. --Cate
My mother always told her children that the early bird catches the worm. This tells me that my early vote will make Barack Obama the next president. --JoAnne Johnson Hill
Since I am a disabled senior, early voting meant not having to wait in long lines to vote. --Carol Hamer
yes It allows me to vote at a senior-friendly location. My neighborhood polling place is not accessible. --Em Giesecke
it has made the election more convient to vote. --Mike
Early voting - not sure my words will be as eloquent as an Obama supporters. Why have November 4 election day when we have had election month - our election process is becoming as ludicrous as those in non democratic countries. I think it has been a disservice to our political system and will more than likely become one more reason for the US to look foolish to the eastern world watching this election unfold - and what about the alleged campaign funds that Obama has received from foreign sources? The news media in this country can not even be counted on for responsible unbiased reporting - you wear your biased support for Obama on your shirt sleeves. I place my trust in God that His will be done. In God we trust, or at least I still do. --Michele Mathia
1) It's brought me into the 21st century (1st time touch screen voting); 2) it's freed me to be able to help someone else on election day; 3) I'm happy I lived this long to see this campaign. I'm very, very proud. --Proud American
Early voting saved my life! I recently moved, changed my address, updated my license but never re-registered! Luckily, I registered through the "Grace Period" early voting. I turned 18 the DAY after the 2004 presidential election - I'll be 22 on November 3rd and there's NO way I was going to miss this election! --Nikki
Not at all. It's important for me to participate on Election Day. --Bob
