1 Man Killed, 1 Wounded In South Side Drive-By

CHICAGO (STNG) ― A 22-year-old man was killed and another man was critically injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday night on the South Side.

About 9:35 p.m., a dark-colored Pontiac Grand Prix pulled up to a car parked at 6701 S. State St. and somebody in the Grand Prix fired multiple shots, police said. Two men inside the parked car were struck.

One of the men suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

John Duncan, of 8005 S. Paulina St., has been identified as the gunshot victim, according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman. Pronouncement information was not available Friday night.

An autopsy Friday revealed Duncan died from multiple gunshot wounds. His death has been ruled a homicide, the medical examiner's office said.

Another man was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

The Grand Prix fled following the shooting, police said.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
