The family of a Michigan Avenue doctor hopes a reward will help solve the mystery of his murder.
CBS 2's Dana Kozlov reports Chicago police have some leads in the case.
It has been more than a month since police released security video footage of the man they believed murdered Dr. David Cornbleet. But so far, the video has not led detectives to his killer.
"We have some good, solid leads that we're moving forward with. It's hard to determine how far we are until we get to the end," said Commander Steve Peterson of the Chicago Police Department.
Cornbleet's son hopes to move things along.
"I will be offering a $25,000 reward toward the arrest and conviction of whoever did this to my father," said Jon Cornbleet.
He appeared at a news conference with police to again shine the spotlight on the crime that has shattered his family.
"It's been very painful for the family, but, you know, I do understand these things take time and I'm giving a lot of leeway in that direction," Jon Cornbleet said.
The Chicago dermatologist was found bound and stabbed in his Michigan Avenue office on Cctober 24. Police do not believe it was a random act, and neither does Jon Cornbleet.
A witness rode down the elevator with the young suspect caught on surveillance video, but no composite sketch has been released.
"I don't want to say too much about what's going on, however, a lot of evidence is being worked up," Peterson said.
The suspect is described as a white male, mid-teens to 20-years-old, five feet 10 inches to six feet tall, with a medium build.
Police say they have ruled out robbery as a motive.
