CTA Bus Late Night Re-Routes Downtown
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
Because of construction and street repairs, State Street will be closed to all traffic between Madison and Randolph streets for two nights this week and three nights next week.
The work begins late Wednesday night and 15 CTA bus routes will be re-routed downtown as a result. This week's work begins at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday and will last until 5 a.m. Thursday. The same schedule will be followed Thursday night into Friday, according to a release from the CTA.
Next week, the work will be done Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, also from 11:59 p.m. until 5 a.m., the release said.
The following 15 CTA bus routes will be detoured:
No. 4 Cottage Grove
No. 6 Jackson Park Express
No. 10 Museum of Science & Industry
No. 29 State
No. 36 Broadway
No. 62 Archer
No. 146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express
Northbound No. 29 State
Eastbound No. 20 Madison
Southbound No. 56 Milwaukee
Northbound No. 22 Clark
Eastbound No. 60 Blue Island/26th
No. 66 Chicago
Northbound No. 147 Outer Drive Express
No. 151 Sheridan
Westbound No. 20, northbound No. 56, westbound No. 60, southbound No. 147, southbound No. 151, northbound No. 6, northbound No. 36 and northbound No. 62 buses are not affected and will operate over their regular routes.
