Study: Poor Graduation Rates For Disabled Students
Only 25 Percent Of 'Emotionally Troubled' CPS Students Graduate, Study Says
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
A new study of high school graduation rates in the Chicago Public Schools shows a severe disparity between students with disabilities and those without.
Overall, 70 percent of high school freshmen without identified disabilities were more likely to graduate, the study indicated.
The number drops to 50 percent of students with mild learning disabilities, and down further to 25 percent for students who were diagnosed as "emotionally troubled".
The study was conducted by the University of Chicago.
