Fire Only Causes Minor Delays

CHICAGO (STNG) ― CTA Blue Line customers are facing a five-minute delay Monday morning after some debris caught fire on the downtown subway tracks.

A still-and-box alarm was called at 8:54 a.m. for reports of a fire on the tracks at 50 W. Washington St., beneath Daley Center, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado.

CTA spokeswoman Katelyn Thrall firefighters responded to burning debris on the right away of the Blue Line tracks. Power was temporary removed and was quickly restored, causing a five minute delay to customers.

No injuries were reported in the incident, Rosado said, noting the alarm was struck out at 9:08 a.m.
