CHICAGO (CBS) ― Friday, more than a decade after they parted ways in a bitter feud, Chicago's legendary radio team of Steve Dahl and Garry Meier got together again for a historic radio reunion.

The duo surprised fans broadcasting from the Air & Water Show on the lakefront.

CBS 2's Dana Kozlov joined them on the air and asked the question on everybody's mind.

Dana asked the duo if they had buried the hatchet.

"I think yeah, I guess so. It seems like it," Dahl said, eliciting cheers from the crowd of listeners.

And with that, a 13-year-old radio feud was over and an unexpected radio reunion was underway.

Legendary disc jockey Steve Dahl and former longtime partner Garry Meier were together again – cracking each other up and delighting listeners of his radio show on WCKG-FM, just like old times. (WCKG is also owned by CBS)

"When you work with somebody for 15 years, even though there's been a 13-year span between, you kind of pick up where you left off in a weird way and that's the way it seemed when I sat down," Meier said.

Dahl and Meier were a groundbreaking, popular pair when they hit Chicago's airwaves in 1979. They soon made broadcast history, most notably with 1979's Disco Demolition at Comiskey Park.

But a nasty 1993 split ended their run, until both ended up at the Oak Street Beachstro.

Anthony Priola, the owner of Oak Street Beachstro, said, "Steve said, hey, what's going on? And sure enough, Garry, being cordial and polite decided he'd come over and say hi."

Dahl and Meier called their afternoon reunion 'fun'. But could this be the beginning of something more?

"I don't know. I don't have any plans. I didn't expect for this to happen. You never know," Dahl said.
