Republicans Deliver Petition To House Speaker Madigan

CHICAGO (CBS) ― A group of Republicans wants to impeach Governor Rod Blagojevich, accusing him of near-criminal mismanagement of the state's finances.

"Citizens to Impeach Blagojevich" on Tuesday delivered a petition to House Speaker Michael Madigan, demanding an immediate investigation.

At the same time, the Illinois House adopted a resolution urging the governor to stay in Springfield, and be ready to negotiate during an overtime session on the budget stalemate.
