Judge Orders R. Kelly To Give Deposition

Woman Claims Singer Secretly Videotaped Her During Sex

CHICAGO (AP) ― A Cook County judge has ordered R&B star R. Kelly to give a deposition in a civil lawsuit filed by a woman who claims he secretly videotaped her while having sex.

The judge's order yesterday allows the woman's attorneys to question Kelly about what he knows about a tape that allegedly is available on the Internet.

Kelly's attorney says the statute of limitations has expired on the woman's claims of invasion of privacy. The attorney also says Kelly is likely to assert his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination due to an unrelated criminal child pornography case pending against him.

The deposition won't take place until after Kelly's criminal trial, which is scheduled for later this summer.
