Former Gymnastics Coach Convicted Of Harassing Witness
Sex Offender Found Guilty Of More Charges
WHEATON, Ill. (AP) ―
A 28-year-old gymnastics coach has been found guilty of harassing a witness before he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for molesting several girls at his family's gym.
Authorities say Michael Cardamone was convicted of witness harassment and disorderly conduct for making a false police report of traffic violations by a witness involved in Cardamone's molestation case.
In December, a judge sentenced Cardamone for molesting seven gymnasts at the American Institute of Gymnastics and Preschool in Aurora. The victims were between the ages of five and 14.
Cardamone has denied ever molesting or abusing any of the girls.
He now faces an additional 14 years on the harassment and disorderly conduct convictions. A sentencing date on these latest charges is set for January 23rd.
