Police Leaflet In Search Of Burger King Murderer
Mary Hutchison Was Killed In Monday Morning Robbery
LINDENHURST, Ill. (CBS) ―
Police on Wednesday have been passing out flyers as they search for the killer of a
Burger King manager in the far north suburbs.
Mary Hutchison, 45, was found dead on Monday at the Burger King and Munn Road and Grand Avenue in
Lindenhurst, by an employee who saw her body in an office next to an open safe. Hutchison had arrived to prepare inventory just before 4 a.m. Monday morning, and by 5:15 a.m. she was dead, police said.
Sources say she died from blunt force trauma and three stab wounds to the back.
Hutchison transferred to the Lindenhurst location in June after surviving a robbery and attack at an
Antioch Burger King in February during which she was beaten severely. Her husband said after transferring to this restaurant she was just starting to feel safe.
Police are investigating a connection between the two crimes.
Sources tell CBS 2 the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force interrogated a suspect Monday night, and that the former Burger King employee was released after hiring an attorney.
The victim's husband, Ken Hutchison, says he wants nothing more than for police to catch his wife's killer.
"Please come forward. The only thing I want is justice. I know I'm never going to get her back," he said.
Burger King and Crimestoppers are offering a reward of $11,000 for information in this case.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers or the Lindenhurst Police.
