Quintuplets Prepare To Celebrate First Birthdays
OSWEGO, Ill. (AP) ―
For their first birthday tomorrow, five little birthday cakes will be baked for each of the Horton quintuplets of Oswego: Caitlynn, Portter, Lachlan, Coira and Addyson.
Though there are just four babies to eat them now, mom Taunacy Horton wants to honor the memory of Addyson, who died 19 days after their premature birth on October Eleventh, 2004.
It is a bittersweet season for the Hortons, who a year ago saw their family grow by five souls before losing one -- all while military dad Josh Horton nearly lost his own life fighting in Iraq.
The few photos taken of Addyson during her short life are hung alongside photos of her siblings. Her tiny face is the centerpiece of a black and white photo collage in the second floor hallway of the Horton home.
