CHICAGO (AP) ― A published report says Governor Rod Blagojevich hired the construction company of a now-indicted political fund-raiser to oversee a home renovation project in 2003.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports in its Sunday editions the project took place after Tony Rezko asked the governor's office for a wish list of political appointments.

The home improvements included renovations to a family room and a new deck.

Blagojevich spokeswoman Abby Ottenhoff says the bill totaled about $90,000 because the governor wanted union workers. Ottenhoff says Rezko had a good reputation at the time.

Rezko helped Blagojevich raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for his campaigns. Now Rezko faces two federal indictments for alleged shakedowns for campaign contributions. Rezko has pleaded not guilty.
