Diamonds Worth $1.7 Million Reported Missing
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A diamond shipment worth more than $1 million was reported missing Wednesday after an armed car service attempted to deliver the jewels to a Jeweler's Row store, police said.
The diamonds, shipped from New York, were reported missing Wednesday after an armed car service arrived to deliver the jewels to a jewelry store at 5 S. Wabash Ave, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
Police believe the theft happened during the commute and said the armed car service also stopped in Kentucky prior to its arrival in Chicago.
The diamonds are valued at $1.7 million, Mirabelli said.
