Dispatcher Helped Capture Escaped Jail Inmates

by Kristyn Hartman
OAK PARK, Ill. (CBS) ― A dispatcher helped capture two escaped inmates who made their way to Oak Park this morning, CBS 2's Kristyn Hartman reports.

The two men, David Earnest and Arnold Joyner, were part of a larger group of six inmates who overpowered guards this morning and escaped from Cook County Jail. The two men were found near Ridgeland Common Ice Rink at 415 W. Lake St.

Oak Park Police Chief Rick Tanksley said a dispatcher this morning saw two people he thought were suspicious and dressed in khaki clothing. He notified police, who were able to apprehend the two.

Police continue to search for four remaining escapees.
