CHICAGO (CBS) ― Police released a major clue Friday that they hope will lead them to the killer of a Michigan Avenue doctor.

CBS 2's Dana Kozlov reports on what surveillance cameras captured in that dermatologist's office building.

Chicago police believe they have security video of Dr. David Cornbleet's murderer. The young, white male was captured entering Cornbleet's 30 N. Michigan Ave. office building at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday wearing a gray jacket and red baseball cap, and carrying a bag.

When he leaves 46 minutes later, he "...appears to have changed hats, wearing a dark colored knit cap....covering his face in front of his body. He also appears to have a protruding item from his shoulder bag," said Supt. Phil Cline of the Chicago Police Department.

The Chicago dermatologist was found by his daughter Tuesday night, bound and stabbed in his 12th floor office.

That same night another building tenant told security she shared an elevator with a man who had a bloody face. The witness told police that the man on the surveillance camera footage is the same man she saw on the elevator.

Police hope someone will come forward with more information.

"The best description we have at this time six feet tall," said Detective Steve Peterson with the Chicago Police Department.

Police say his murder was not random. Cornbleet's family doesn't think so, either.

"No, we don't believe it's a total stranger, we believe it's somebody who knows my father," said John Cornbleet, the victim's son.

But John Cornbleet says his father didn't have any enemies. And police have already ruled out robbery as a motive.

Police say they are still going through Cornbleet's office looking for clues.

Detectives say there were also signs of a struggle in one examining room.
