3 Men, 1 Woman Shot Near Cabrini-Green
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
Three men and one woman were hospitalized early Sunday morning after a shooting in a lot on the Near North Side, close to the Cabrini-Green public housing development.
The four were shot by an unknown gunman at 414 W. Goethe St. at 12:05 a.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
The gunman was allegedly across the street and ran up to the group and opened fire, according to police. The incident may have been gang-related and the victims were not cooperating with police.
They were all taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
A man, 27, was listed in stable condition with gunshot wounds to both legs and an ankle. Another man, 25, was in "stable" condition with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. A third man, 28, was in good condition after being shot in the foot. A woman, 47, was shot in the abdomen and thigh, and was in good condition, police said.
Greer originally said the lot was on Chicago Housing Authority property but CHA spokesman Matt Aguilar said Monday the agency does not own the property.
No one was in custody as of Monday morning. Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
