CHICAGO (STNG) ― A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot Friday night on his South Side block and another teenage boy was wounded in an apparent gang-related shooting in the Pilsen neighborhood.

Daniel Calderon, of 2310 S. Seeley Ave., was shot at 2019 W. 23rd St. and was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 12:31 a.m. Saturday, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Police said two teen boys were shot in the 2300 block of South Seeley Avenue about 11:20 p.m. Friday. One teen was initially in critical condition at Stroger with multiple gunshot wounds and the second teen was in "stable" condition at Stroger with a gunshot wound to the back, police News Affairs said, citing preliminary information.

Police had not been notified of the boy's death early Saturday.

The two were shot by gunfire from a passing vehicle and the incident is gang-related, News Affairs said.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
