Artwork On Sale For the True Cub Fan
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
Baseball's opening day is little more than a week away and souvenir shops will soon be doing big business selling caps and jerseys. There's one other item you might want to add to your collection, especially if you're a Cub fan an oil painting called "Sweet Summer Chicago."
The piece of artwork includes images of Wrigley Field, a Cubs pitcher, and a cloud formation in the form of Harry Caray. It's the creation of artist John Quillian. He now lives in Tulsa, Okla. but has ties to the area around Wrigley Field.
"I lived 10 years in Wrigleyville," Quillian said. "They're crawl marks on the pavement from dragging me out of here. I love this town."
The painting is being auctioned on
Quillian's Website, but can be viewed in the lobby of the Drake Hotel until the end of the auction. You can also buy signed lithographs at the Drake Hotel.
