The new general manager for the Chicago Bulls says re-signing high-scoring guard Ben Gordon is his top priority heading into the offseason.
Gar Forman tells reporters he believes Gordon wants to stay in Chicago but that there's still a lot of work to do before that happens.
Gordon played a key role in the team's impressive but ultimately failed bid to defeat the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA playoffs. He becomes a free agent on July 1.
Forman replaces John Paxson, who will remain with the Bulls as executive vice president of basketball operations.
Gar's in charge of day-to-day basketball decisions, while Paxson will deal mostly with long-term organizational planning and talent evaluation.
