Wind Delays Spire Installation For Trump Tower

For the second time this weekend, the attempt to put the accent atop the Trump Tower downtown has been scrubbed.

Windgusts in excess of 50 mph Saturday forced a helicopter pilot to scrub the installation of the 236-foot spire that will top off the 92-story Trump International Hotel & Tower at 401 N. Wabash.

Plans were scrubbed again on Sunday morning. South winds between 20 and 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph at times were forecast Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
