Burr Oak Cemetery Desecrated

Four people have been charged after up to 300 bodies were removed from their graves and the plots were resold at the historic Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip.

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said more than 100 graves were dug up at historic Burr Oak Cemetery by employees carrying out off-the-book burials for cash.
