Cocoa Cones
Here's another quick gift to make for friends or family. It's great fun to give as a hostess gift when people invite you over for the holidays. Everybody loves hot cocoa.
Big containers of cocoa mix are available at the "Big Box" stores. Disposable cake decorating bags are available at hobby and craft stores.
Makes 1 cone (4 servings of cocoa)
You'll need:
1 cup of hot cocoa mix
1 1/4 cups of mini marshmallows
1 disposable cake decorating bag
A rubber band
Pretty ribbon
Instruction tag - see the print version of recipe
A little adult help
Equipment:
A funnel - it would really help!
Scissors
1. This is so easy! Open a disposable cake decorating bag. Pour in one cup of cocoa mix. You want to keep the top part of the bag clean so the marshmallows stay white so a funnel will definitely help. Shake the cocoa mix down to the bottom of the cone.
2. Add a couple of handfuls of mini-marshmallows - three if your hands are small.
3. You might need a little help here. Four hands are better than two. Twist the top of the cone and put the rubber band around it. Make it tight so the cocoa doesn't come out.
4. Tie a bit of ribbon or raffia around the top, tie in the instruction note and you're done.
Copy the instructions below, resize them to an 8 point font, print them out and attach them to the jar. You can put a bit of red construction paper on the back to make the tag stand out better.
Put 2 heaping teaspoons full of cocoa into each mug.
Add hot water and marshmallows.
Happy Holidays!
