Before that, she was morning anchor and general assignment reporter at KCCI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa (1998-2000). She began her career as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KTKA-TV in Topeka, Kansas.

"Anne is a talented news anchor and aggressive reporter who will bring great energy to our team," said Joe Ahern, CBS 2's President and General Manager. "I'm pleased to welcome her back to the Midwest."

State has been honored with two Emmy Awards, a Missouri Broadcasters Association Award and an Iowa Broadcast News Association Award.
