CBS 2 is the Only News to Grow at 5, 6 and 10PM
From Sign-on to Sign-off, CBS 2 CHICAGO Ties for Second In Overall Share of Viewership
CBS 2 CHICAGO is the fastest growing station in the market and the only station to grow its evening newscasts – up 100 % at 5:00 PM and 44 % at 6:00 PM year-to-year. Since May 2005, the CBS 2 CHICAGO overall share of audience has increased 17 %. And, for the first time since May 1990, CBS 2 CHICAGO is now ranked in 2nd place sign-on to sign-off, tied with WMAQ-TV in household share.
AT 5:00 PMThe CBS 2 CHICAGO News at 5:00 PM swept ahead of WMAQ-TV -- in total audience and all key demos -- for the first time in 13 years. This newscast has doubled its household audience year-to-year and posted triple-digit gains among women. At 5:00 PM. both WLS-TV and WMAQ-TV declined year-to-year.

At 6 PM, CBS 2 CHICAGO News narrows the ratings gap with WMAQ-TV from -1.7 to -0.2 in just 12 months. AT 6:00 PM, both WLS-TV and WMAQ-TV declined year-to-year.

The 10 PM News on CBS 2 CHICAGO has narrowed the gap with WMAQ-TV from -4.4 to -1.7 household ratings. On Friday nights CBS 2 either ties or beats NBC 5 in both households and demos, A25-54.

Dr. Phil is now in 1st place in the time period in all key adult and female demos, posting triple digit growth year-to-year and unseating WLS-TV for the first time in 13 years. In households, Dr. Phil ranks in second place, leading the competition of other syndicated programs on WCIU, WMAQ, WGN, WFLD and WPWR.
