Viewer Comments On Final Presidential Debate
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
We asked viewers your reaction to Wednesday's final presidential debate. Here are your answers:
Even though McCain says he'd give a $5,000 tax credit, he still wants to tax medical benefits! He also came across to me as being somewhat arrogant in his attitudes. Obama came across to me as being more in touch with the American people, and I felt he was honest with the people and McCain was not. - Rita Ordzowialy
My thoughts concerning this debate is Obama did a great job. He stated, and did a run down on all on all areas, like health care, education, and etc. John McCain on the other hand was very nervous, he lied about a lot of things concerning his rallies concerning Sarah Palin, he was on the offensive. He really needs to get his game in order. I do not think, or shall I say, JM will not make a good President of the United States. - Denise
If John McCain stop talking about what Obama is doing or going or done in the past, and give his side, then maybe he would get somewhere in the election. All he is doing is attacking everything this man is doing, or done. He act like he has done nothing wrong. JOHN MCCAIN IS A GIANT JOKE. John McCain doesn't listen now, what makes you think he is going to listen when he gets into office. If this republican gets in office, then everything that going on now in Bush administration will continue on. Don't you even say a word about it later. You brought it on yourself. - Ms. S.
This was Obama's night again. McCain was agitated, incoherent, and unfocused in his responses. He is a one-trick pony: tax cuts for everything. McCain's facial reactions actually seemed weird. - Marie
I think Obama did a great job, and won tonight. McCain did talk a lot about Obama, and his "claims", Obama flat out corrected McCain's untruths. Even after Obama corrected McCain, McCain repeated himself. It must be his inability to recall things in his short term memory. - Amy H.
I would like to know where McCain thinks you can buy health insurance for $5,800 a year for a family of 4? He is absolutely so out of touch with Joe Sixpack (His sidekick's best friend. Health insurance for a family of 4 costs an average of $9,000 and that is with a $10,000 deductible. This man is as clueless as Bush. - Kim
First of all both candidates gave the American people what to expect if they are elected President. I still back John McCain on several issues however, there are many issues that were not discussed and are very important to many of us and one in particular is Social Security. They can hassle back and forth and say that each one is wrong on certain issues but the facts speak for themselves. Money talks but there is no money. We are in a depression and not a recession. Wake up both of you and open your eyes and hear the voices of us crying for help. - Sylvia Abercrombie
I still can't believe McCain is still trying to link up Barack Obama to Bill Ayers. Bill Ayers is NOT a convicted felon, He has been charged but they were dropped due to prosecutorial errors. I had e-mailed McCain's Campaign website, the GOP & the Democratic National Party that I probably will not be voting Republican. I usually vote Republican but never for Democrats. This might be changing this year. Joe
I thought they went well. McCain is still trying to be nasty and rude..butting in again on Obama. This debate has helped my final decision. Patricia
McCain sounded frightening. Am I the only one who noticed how he simply dismissed the issue of the mother's health in the abortion part of the debate? Gary Wolfe
I will support Obama as he is concrete as a rock. He rocks USA. I don't have a chance to vote as I am an Indian. But will support OBAMA. Srikanth
Obama ROCKS!!!!!!He is going to change everything. Mini
Once again for me, I find it amazing that people can't see right through Obama. He has no experience, he's a racist and he isn't even proud to be an American. McCain is the RIGHT person to run this country. Melanie
McCain really stepped up tonight. I think he has the best recovery plan for our country. I feel much safer with him as president. Obama is a good "talker", McCain is real and will stand up for us just as he has his whole life - Sheila Bray
We are concerned that McCain on several occasions seemed to confuse autism with Down's syndrome. Palin has a down's syndrome chide, not an autistic one - James and Barbara Marran
