Peraica In Flap Over Office Space Deal

Report: Peraica Has Free Space For County Board District Office

WESTCHESTER, Ill. (CBS) ― Cook County Commissioner and State's Attorney candidate Tony Peraica is at the center of a controversy over office space.

The Chicago Tribune reported Monday that the west suburban Republican is receiving free space from Asif Yusuf, who operates a family company with a five-year deal to lease a County Board district office to Peraica in Westchester.

Last year, Peraica was forced to refund thousands of dollars to Yusuf for space Peraica was given during his failed run for Cook County Board president in 2006.

Both Peraica and Yusuf have said they were not trying to circumvent the ethics ordinance, the Tribune reported.
