Free Vet Service For Unemployed Pet Owners
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
The Anti-Cruelty Society is helping unemployed pet owners by offering free veterinary services to people unable to afford care for their pets, according to a release from the organization.
The aid is for a single-appointment only, and pet owners must present proof of unemployment upon arrival.
"We want to make sure people are still taking care of their pets," Society President Dr. Robyn Barbiers said in a release issued by the organization. "We also hope that by taking some of the financial burden from the owners during this recession, pets won't be given up."
