The head of Chicago 2016 says there was nothing more the city could have done to improve its bid to host the 2016 Summer Games.
Pat Ryan spoke Tuesday to the Executives' Club of Chicago and called the first-round elimination of Chicago a "miscalculation."
Ryan says the bid may have suffered from strained relationships between the U.S. Olympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee.
He also partially blames bloc voting and says if Chicago could have advanced to the second round, the outcome could have been different.
Ryan says members of the IOC voted for their own regions and representatives for the region covering the U.S. were limited.
The IOC selected Rio de Janeiro last week.
