Man Backs Up Onto Squad Car After Getting Ticket

Police: Henry Raskin Rode Up Hood, Shattered Windshield Inches From Officer's Face

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (AP) ― Police in northwest suburban Buffalo Grove say they are reviewing videotapes before deciding whether to file charges against a motorist who backed his car onto the hood and windshield of a squad car after receiving a speeding ticket.

Buffalo Grove Police Sgt. Scott Kristiansen says Henry Raskin, 70, of Niles was pulled over late Friday morning for driving 58 mph in a 35 mph zone.

The officer wrote the ticket and returned to the car, and Raskin got ready to drive away. Except he went into reverse at a high rate of speed.

Kristiansen says Raskin's car rode up onto the squad car and broke the windshield about six inches from the officer's face. The officer, a 20-year veteran of the Buffalo Grove force, was not injured.
