Several Injured When Crane Collapses In Missouri
WESTON, Mo. (AP) ―
A utility spokeswoman says a crane has collapsed at a Kansas City Power & Light power plant, injuring several people.
Spokeswoman Katie McDonald confirmed there were injuries, but was not sure how many people were hurt.
Several ambulances were sent to the scene after the 7:30 a.m. Friday collapse. Television reports show the crane tipped over on its side and crumpled alongside the plant.
The company is in the process of building a coal-fired plant at the site, about 30 miles northwest of Kansas City near the Missouri River.
